Winter & snowshoe hiking in South Tyrol

Leaving your traces in the fresh snow...

With every step the snow crunches under your feet, the whole mountain landscape is covered in a thick blanket of snow, the sun is laughing from the deep blue sky and the air is crystal clear. In addition to skiing, winter hiking in South Tyrol is an extremely popular winter sport. The enchanting winter landscape is explored on groomed winter hiking trails and children in particular love to play and romp in deep snow along the way. In Meransen/Maranza there are a number of groomed winter hiking trails, some of which are also located in the middle of the skiing area. So families, couples, or groups of friends with skiers and non-skiers are each free to do what they like and can do and can still meet at the mountain restaurant and enjoy lunch together.

Snowshoeing

If the prepared winter paths are not enough for you, put on your snowshoes and trudge through the fresh snow as you please. No matter how deep the snow, with snowshoes you hike through snow-covered meadows and valleys without any difficulties. The only requirement is being physically fit, because trudging through the fresh snow is much more strenuous than walking on prepared winter hiking trails. The muscles in your legs will feel the difference to classical hiking. It is recommended to use hiking poles as an aid. These are especially helpful during ascents and descents and can also help to keep your balance.

At the luxury apartment hotel Panorama Living Dolomites winter trails and snowshoe hikes start directly from your luxury apartment. We are happy to present you with the most beautiful hiking suggestions for easy, medium and demanding tours.
