A number of lovely villages and beautiful towns are located in the surroundings of Meransen/Maranza. By cable car or private vehicle you can reach Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria, a charming little village right at the entrance of the Pustertal valley. In addition, the neighbouring village of Vals/Valles is just a stone’s throw away. During the winter months, the two villages are connected by funicular railway in the ski resort Gitschberg Jochtal.

It takes twenty minutes by car to reach Brixen/Bressanone (‘the Bishop’s town’). Alternatively, the town can be reached by public transport: first, the cable car down to Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria and from there the bus to Brixen/Bressanone. Using public transport is sustainable and environmentally friendly and will save you the trouble of finding a free parking space in town. 
Also other major towns such as Bruneck/Brunico at the foot of Mount Kronplatz or our province’s capital Bozen/Bolzano can easily and cheaply be reached by bus or train. Our town are worth visiting for their unique Alpine-Mediterranean flair, architecture, impressive museums, and, last but not least, the great shopping opportunities they offer.
